which would you prefer a hard top, soft top or a permanent tin top.

I love being able to flip my soft top open at any time especially since mine is red without A/C but for security it isnt great. since I have a 2 piece top I think the best of both worlds would be the rear removable hard top section and keep the fabric roof piece, though having access to a hard top roof section would be nice on longer trips. mines a vit btw

For a Sierra and the way most people use them - Soft Top is better IMO. For a Vitara and their intended purpose - Hard top is better IMO.

I tend to wear a cotton tee' if it's cold a flanel and maybe even thermals.

I do my best to encourage flashing at all times, my missus isn't really down for it.

Just about everyone I know who has had a soft top.....now owns a tin top.

Those that say soft top......haven't owned a tin top.

Tin top sierras are stupid. The body only lasts a few trips if you drive hard tracks down here. Sure, you can exo them up, but then you end up with a bulky, heavy Sierra with a high COG. Even my tray back with an exo is all screwed up.

I vote a soft top because all they stuff that gets wrecked is replaceable.

A bigger, more comfortable car (like a vitara) is a better option as a hardtop- they don't make any sense as a soft top because they still have a fixed windscreen frame/ b pillar.

Plus, tin tops with 1/2 doors/ no doors look silly.

But I have also owned a tin top and it is quieter on the road and more secure but thats the only plus for me.

I like the softop for the bush, if i had a hardtop it'd be all fucked up by now.
