just wondering what the largest offset wheels available are either 15x7 or 15x8 want to pump the wheels out a fair bit

the largest you can get are called bearing killers and they come supplied with a six pack of wheel bearings......not sure which joint sells them though. seriously stick with f100 4x4 offset.

you could try jeep wheels, i have them on mine, they do sit about 30mm or so with 235's on.

how long would a set of wheel bearings look to last with a large offset rim?
i have flipped rims and a few months in the wheel bearings are still going strong.. if i get 12 months out of em then i would be happy.

I have -50 15x10's on mine, there's a very good reason why i run around on standard wheels.  Although it does look cool with them on, and nearly as stable as my mates Daihatsu Scat which runs GQ axles on side slopes.

wats the greatest offset a 15x7 neg 36 or a 15x8 neg 50 i want to stop my tyres hitting the springs and front top shock mount. So biggest offset possible would be great also like a bigger foot print

Biggest offset for 15X7 is about -15, for 15x8 it's about -25, 15x10 it's something like 44. Are you running 31x10.5? I ran them on a set of 15x8 0 offset, and they didn't scrape the springs. I run 15x8 with -25 offset now, and i'd much rather have the 0 offset ones. Actually i'd really like a set of 15x7s.

oh k i found some with -50 for 15x8 which would push them out a fair bit more i think my 15x7 are -23

What tyres are you running? Surely you don't need that much offset.

My suggestion is fit the smallest offset rims that will stop your tyres rubbing on the springs. If at a later date you go for bigger tyres, then get different rims.

More the case of I WANTY, as i want to get rid of my 10's and go back to 8's and want to lose as little width as possible.

when i flex up and it hits the top shock mount it chews into my tyres. Looked into chopping and flipping my rims but if i can just get new wheels i'd prefer that. I dont mind how far out they stick im not to worried bout wheel bearings and would like the wider foot print

Just go max offset and carry some spare wheel bearings and grease with you on trips. The advantages of full width far outweigh the disadvantages.

Gday Pete  In off road situations i'm inclined to agree, but in a rig that's driven on road most of the time I don't think that's the case, that's where I was coming from.
I don't know what mcwilly's situation is in that regard, just my $0.02.

The 10's will make you have about 2" more width then the 8's and unless you're going a hugely wide tyre, then the 8's are wide enough and going to hold the beads better, will also make the tyre stand slightly taller. For the extra 2", it's probably not worth the disadvatages you're going to get.
If my choice, i'd go -76 8" rims instead.  but then mines a toy only and rarely driven on the road, of which when it does, the standard wheels are on it. Stupidly big offset suits what i drive and i just havn't been arsed putting bigger wider axles underneath from something else..

go google scrub axis and understand what it is and what big offset rims do to that, I am sure the extra half a degree in side angle stability on completely level ground while standing still is not worth the steering being totally and uterly useless anytime their is any load on the front end and just something to hold onto anytime you have a front locker engaged

The scrub radius is a distance between Steering Axis Inclination and center of the wheel where both of them would theoretically be touching the road. Steering axis is a line between the lower ball joint and the top most pivot of the hub. On the McPherson strut, the top most pivot point is the strut bearing whereas the bottom point consists of the lower ball joint. Making use of suspension using the lower and the upper control arms, pivot points are placed where the upright connects the control arms. The Inclination to the steering axis could be measured as the angle between the centerline and the steering axis. This means, if camber is found adjustable at the pivot points then SAI can be changed. Therefore, altering the scrub radius by altering the width of the offsets of the wheels could allow you to run the car safely.
If the centerline is inboard then the scrub radius is positive ad if it is outboard of tire centerline then the scrub radius is a negative one. The rear wheel drive trucks and cars mostly have a positive scrub radius and the FWD cars have negative or a zero scrub radius as they are having a higher level SAI angle. In order to alter the scrub radius, usage of the wheels having different offset than the stock could prove helpful. The main purpose of the scrub radius is to provide help center wheels after the cornering also for retaining the stability of the wheel.
Net effect of the running of an offset LESS in positive is a poor steering control that develops tram lining seen over the surfaces. The wheels would pull off on either of the sides which would encourage instability at high speed. Such sorts of effects could be lessened simply by setting the front wheel alignment to the neutral. However, in many of the cases it would simply be unwise for the usage of wheels that alters scrub radius of cars. This is the main reason why many of the insurance companies don't pay out on accidents that involve cars with after market wheels.
A larger scrub radius, four inches or maybe about 100mm were used earlier in most of cars. Its advantage is that the tire rolls just as wheel is steered that reduces on the efforts while parking the car. This also helps in increasing the width of the engine bay which is quite an important point in most of the sports cars. The scrub radius is of very much importance in regards with the steering stability and the wheel alignment. In case of a small scrub radius, contact patch would be spun in the place while parking the vehicle and it takes a lot of effort. An advantage of the scrub radius is that the small scrub radius allows the steering to become bit less of sensitive for braking inputs, particularly.
