anyone had the issue of stalling when on an angle ?
iv'e heard you can semi-fix this buy mounting the carb backwards.
just wondering if anyones done it here, or can link a site with some info/pics

mine wants to conk out on really angled drops due to mine being mounted backwards. I drive a vit though. Thats just how mine went on.

my understanding is that they are not designed for 4WDs. saying this my zook had one.
by turning them backwards they stall going down steep inclines rather than when u go up them. this is less problematic because you have gravity on your side. having said that i haven't experienced any problems with mine.
but that could be due to a lack of decent hills.
i can however confirm that the search function will be helpful to you in this case. as i have started at least one thread about this B4 myself.

mine wasnt flipped when i had it - so it flooded uphill... wasnt such an issue with 5.14 tcase and 31s though cos i just put it back a gear and revved it harder. it did get annoying if i wanted to go slow, or if i stopped and had to try a hill start... it stunk too. lol

Webers in stock form can flood on steep incline/declines depending on carb orientation.
The issue lies within the way your weber vents the fuel bowl. It is in such a position that when tipped the fuel from the bowl sloshes out the vent and straight onto the air correctors.
The fix, seal the vent off with liquid metal and use the auxiliary vent outlet. This is the angled tube ontop of fuel bowl,older models were blanked off and required you to drill vent holes on the underside and install a fitting. New models come out with a hose barb for routing to charcoal canister.

I heard 90* was the ultimate, also search sarg's webber mods. Back in the day guys use to send there webs over to him and he would mod them somehow and make it not stall on any angle..... Nik spent about $700 getting a 40/40 rebuilt and modded by this guy..... Get a 4K I say!

That's exactly what I keep telling everyone!
The fuel bowl breather vent mod will help slightly but it wont cure the problem. It's the way the carb is built/designed. It will gravity feed fuel through the main jets/emulsion tubes and into the throat on steep inclines/declines depending on orientation.
Rotating it 90* will still cause the issue but only on extreme side slopes but I doubt you drive extreme sideslopes as much as inclines/declines.
To get the most outta your webber regardless of orientation, set the fuel bowl level as low as possible.

Yep this is the best way to help the problem. You can modify the needle valve so that it drops a little more when fully opened. The more that needle is allowed to drop the quicker the fuel can flow in.
What this does is allow you to run a lower float setting without starving for fuel, and not run out of fuel on full throttle runs as well.
I also ran an electric pump and installed a switch so I could shut down the fuel on steep descents, that really helped the flooding problem, but I always forgot to turn it back on at the worst of times.
