Ok to start off im new to this 4x4 thing,
I hear back in the day people used to put the toyota
K-series engines into the sierras. Iv had a look on the net
But so far failed in finding out what is involved in the conversion
And what the benefits are, if someont could please shed a little light
To this topic or at leasy point me in the right direction
Id be thankfull.

back in teh day was a long long long time ago, we have had better Suzuki options since about 1989

G16 8 valve carby engine form a vitara or swift is one option
G16 16 valve EFI from a later Vitara or Baleno is an even better more powerful one

I've got a 4k in mine. reason was it was half in when i bought it.
requires quite a bit of work

move engine mounts
sort out gearbox mount
new jackshaft from gearbox to transfer
and probably a bit more as well

not even close to a bolt in swap

I got a 4k in mine too. I didn't do much of the work myself but someone has:

Made new engine mounts (Used the stock chassis mount though)
Made a new gearbox mount (Still uses the stock cross member)
Made a Frankenstein jack shaft using one corrola yoke welded to a suzuki yoke (I have seen another one that looked better but I don't know what it was)
Changed the stock radiator mounts to fit the rolla radiator.
Made some weird carb hat to run over to the airbox. (k motor has carb on opposite side to zook motor)

As Royce said I have only seen this conversion on three or four zooks and they were all 1982 models and now days there is better conversions.

There probably isn't alot of benefits doing this conversion over a g16 or something. The 4k is tough as from what I have heard and mine is going pretty well BUT they tick, they knock, they leak oil EVERYWHERE and they don't go all that hard. Nice and cheap parts though

Although in saying all that if you could get a 5k that might be a bit gutsier.

Go have a look on the rollaclub forum, there is a few people on there with k motors in their zooks and a fair bit about k motors.

Well the only reason i had this conversion in mind is
Iv always been a rolla fan,Have also owned 6 rollas so far.
And in my mind the k series motors are almosy bullet proof

They might be strong but they are old and outdated technology. They are not even cross-flow!

If you are a die hard rolla fan then why not look at the A series?

The k series are bulletproof. But outdated.

A g16b is so much simpler into a 1.3 sierra and it keeps it suzuki.

Don't see many suzuki motors in rolla's.

i had a rolla with a 4age bigport and it was a good motor after you reached about 4500 rpm, what are peoples personal thoughts on the g16b in the low rev range

someone put a corolla motor in my new LJ, the first thing i will do to it is
pull the motor out and chuck it away.

My tintop donor had a 5k in it. Did a skid onto the car trailer. It's now sitting in the broken chassis out in the rain cause it's a bad dog! Bad dog 5k!

Ok well as things are starting to seem, will be buying a doner vitara
