As of 1130pm Sunday night it still has 6 days to go on ebay, if he has promised it to you get him to cancel it on ebay.

Its sitting in my back yard, I've put a bid on it so high no one else will win it, I have already paid an agreed price. I dont think he can delete the add because there was already a bid on it, could be wrong but.

Yeah that was what I was thinking, if he doesnt cancel then they assume that the last bid is the price he got, I don't think there is any problem canceling these days

I have cut and pasted this off ebay Q&A...

You can find the option to end your listing early in the little drop down menu alongside the item listing
in your My eBay selling section, alternatively there is a link for this in the centre column on the site
map page.

If you have bids you will have to cancel those first when the option comes up.

You can only end a listing with bids prior to the last 12 hrs it has left to run even if you cancel the bids.

You will of course still be charged ebay fees.
