As above, front diff went farkin' BANG up on the Old Coach road last weekend before the infamous 'steps'. Managed catch it on footage and did the rest in 2wdL. ;)

I've heard that a GV steel housing mounts up the same but the internals need modification?

What needs to be done for this too work?

Any info helps fellas. :)

Cheers.

I put new 235/75 muddies on her, and I was crawling up a fair ledge, rocky surface she slipped sideways, I slipped on the go-go pedal she bounced up coming down and too much force went through the diff, BANG. Curses were said, but didn't stop me from completing the track.

Atari; What do you mean yes? Yes, to it can be done and it mounts up the same, or?

Cheers.

Housings are the same just one is steel the other is alloy. Internal are interchangeable with a Vit. GV ratios are different so you just have to put your vit center into it. GV's have 26 spline axles.

Alright sweet. So there is no modification that needs to be done to the housing to fit the standard Vit internals?

Awesome. :) Cheers man.

unless you want to fabricate a new pinion mount, you'll need the early GV steel diff from a 98-99 manual GV 2.5 SQ625. one of those links will have pics of the 2 different types of pinion mounts.

if your diff survived the explosion you need to have them swapped into the GV 3rd member

chop has as GV steel diff already set up with 5.12's.

i doubt you'd be able to find one + a new R&P and have the diff gears swapped over for less than what he wants for it.

the housings are the same but the axles and centers are different. you can fit the vit center into the GV housing butthe vit stuff is alloy. best to get a steel diff and center from an early V6 GV.
