hey mate, got a few questions...
has the g/box, t/case and diffs ever had a rebuild ?
does everything run fine?
when did the timing belt etc get replaced last?
are the brakes good?
any suspension issues, steering wobble?
any leaks?
and is a speedo cable expensive to get fixed?
cheers

Come on guys, this is why people that sell cars get the shits.
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Speedo-Cable ... 35a8fa8172
speedo cable $30 off ebay new, took 10 seconds to find.
Its $3500 ono. it says it runs good, has new clutch and radiator.
its a 20 year old car with 230+km's on it, what do people expect?
expect to buy a timing belt, rotor cap, button, plugs leads and usual filters and oil change. Should cost you a lot less than $200 unless you pay full retail prices and dont shop around.
Assuming it doesn't have a lot of rust and the tyres are alright, you could get this running well, get a road worthy, 6 months rego and be on the road for under 4 grand if you bought it for $3200, give or take a few hundred if there are any unexpected nasties.
anyway thats just my 2 cents, good luck with the sale

car looks stock as a rock, chances of it having diff, transfer or gearbox issues are incredibily small. you'd top up or at most change fluids.
It also has a new clutch so they've recently had the box out, i doubt you'd put the box back in if it was leaking.
The ad says it runs well and is still driven daily so there cant be anything drastically wrong with the running gear.
To be honest, the ad isn't incredibly detailed but its a stock, drivable sierra that does not need much for a roady.

thanks fmoss3, look needs a good clean tyres are ok and had a couple of offers of 2,500 pretty close to what he will take. from what i could see there is no oil leaks but at the end of the day it is a 20 year old car so the car is not up to ferrari standards look i think first to see will buy it, i didnt know he wanted to sell it i only found out after i bort my sierra otherwise i would have bort it
