Sierra and vitara ones are different, i got caught out with this with AVM hubs too as they share the same part number

Which clip are you talking about? The one in joes pic is needed if its the one one the very end of the shaft like a sierra set up dont worry.

A pic of your problem would sort it. ps my vitara has no outer clip. only the one just after the bearing nut and there is no grove to put one in

He'd be talking about the clip on the end of the CV to hold it in place rather than floating back and forth within the hub/diff.

Leave the clip off, have pulled them off every one ive had and never had a problem.makes swapping a cv on track easyer and quicker as you dont have to split the loxking hub any more.

Thought this was for a vitara, clip is in a different place and makes it a different story

in a sierra there is some play behind the clip anyway and the diff is sealed outside of the rear of the cv. take it off and you still have enough spline on full lock that its not going to pop out.

on a vitara the cv has a dust/water seal. if the clip isnt there it moves around and lets shit in. there is next to no play with the vitaras clip
