Would 660cc NT Jimny diff gears fit?
from memory they are quite a high ratio..

Bringing this thread up again... A couple of questions re Jimny diff gears-

1. Am I correct in saying a 2010 Jimny is currently 4.3 ratio with the standard tyres ?
2. If I currently have 235x75 tyres which means I am 87% of standard.(13% lower (higher) than standard.
3. If I want to go slightly lower than standard then I need 15% or 17% reduction?
4. Therefore, should I be getting 4.3 x 115% = 4.95 ratio (or 4.3 x 117% = 5.0 ratio?
5. Does anybody currently sell these or do I need to wait for Twisted (if they are going to sell these) ?

when we went to 31s we changed high range buy 15 percent and its not back to standard
the low range is around 70-80 percent lower then factory

4th low is equal to 1st high

Or in other words....no there aren't any other options for reduction gearing?

I don't want to/cant be bothered to go down the whole samurai transfer swap. The simplicity of changing out a few gears is too easy.

I may need to go up to 30/31 then wont i???

Does anyone know where they were going to source the gears from ? Is there anywhere that sells reduction gears that are less than 20% ?

I don't want to go up in tyre size...I just spent $1200 on new tyres. (235's)...and yes, I'm with you regarding the samurai transfer swap - gears just sounds too easy.

gjb977: Another option is to put a auto t-case in which will offer around 22% (from memory) then put 4.11 diff gear's in from a early model jimny. This will give you about 15-16% reduction then.... if i remember correctly that is....

Birdman- You could also put a auto t-case in...but you will have to go up to 30's/31's to bring the rev's back down at 100 KPH....
