yeah the joys of buying 2nd hand and half finished i suppose.
this weekend i'll hopefully change the water pump, and i'll have a stab at setting the timing again. prick of a job, dont have a dwell meter but i do have a timing light, which requires you to hold a mirror up next to the inspection hole and try and view it that way.
just having another quick fiddle while taking the photo's i've noticed the
float level its getting really low, ie almost off the sight glass low. probably whats causing my problems i think.
guess that either means, float it stuffed.
electric fuel pump i have is clogged up and can't pump enough fuel
or the needle valve might be stuffed
either way i think i may be pulling mr carby off the engine and cleaning and replacing a few things
anyways here some pics of the carby in question as i'd still like to know the location of a/f screw
this is the carby in question, the only labeling i can find on it so far till i rip it off the car is mikuni solex.
this is the the screw that i'm sure just dictates idle speed. just behind the white and black wire in the middle of the 2nd photo there's a shiny silver flat head screw, haven't really tried to turn it to see if that affects performance.
this pic just makes me cry when i think of how i have to try and look at the inspection hole for the timing
any more help or advice greatly appreciated.
