hey guys i want to get a ruf done on my car but i dont think i would be able to do it myself so im just wondering how much one of you fabricating gods would charge to ruf my car, its a 1988 wt sierra

Semi RUF or full RUF... $200 for semi and $400 for full. Day turn around, drive in drive out with you providing the rear springs. I know your on the goldcoast but I thought I would give people closer to me an idea....

If I've done my 50+hrs for the week that pretty good to go fabbing on a Saturday, and there is allot of work with a full ruf, WT especially....

I am sure what 31zook means is the price will vary depending on how the rear springs are fitted to the front of the vehicle. Because as has been discussed so many times before there is no such thing as a semi RUF, half RUF or full RUF, you either have rear springs in the front or you do not.

All I mean Is if you want your front hangers cut off and moved so you can run standard shackles or you want to just run 50mm longer shackles and move the rear holes back... Does that clear it up a bit?

One is also bolt on reversible. Some (steve) think that everyone is doing this mod dodgy, yes but my work isn't. My new lwb build will be engineered, using most of my original bits....

I will stick to my guns on this, describing it as full or half does not make any sence in relation to the actual modifiation. It is simply a rear up front and this is best descibed as RUF with mounts moved or without mounts moved. Either way it is still rear springs in the front of the vehicle, how it is done is up to the individual and that decisionwill be based on his understanding of a number of factors if you have not given consideration to things like steering arm bind, shock compression angle, caster and bump stop position then you have not fully looked into all the implications of the modification.

price is not a factor in this, its quality of work. there is only one way to do this, and thats paying a good fabricator to do it. if you dont do it properlly you could screw your chassis, get pulled up by transport, or it could look like shit. you want your car to look normal when someone gets under to look at it. thats my opinion on RUF's.

u know that you can just use the rear springs with some 2' boomerang style shackles, tailshaft spacr and extended brake lines, with no cutting welding or drilling.
I ran mine like this for about 2yrs with heaps of flex and smoother ride

I'm sick of hearing about your boomerang shackles. It doesn't matter what shape the shackles are, the fact is if you draw a straight line from one end to the other the angle doesn't change, it still sucks
