as the title states my zooks getting the shakes on the highway
could it be?

A) balance allignment?

B) my kinda saggy soft top?

C) or maybe i bent a steering arm?

D) something i havent thought of??

Uni's. lack of grease in the rear shaft spline.
Kin pin bearing's, worn tie rod end's.
worn spring bush's
ect ect ect

Don't try eliminate it one by one, if a couple of bushes are worn the rest aren't far behind so replace the lot.

The SWB Sierra got the shakes after its last wheel at Glasshouse. Which is normal till we clean off all the mud off the wheels.

This time it didn't fix the oscillating shakes.

1. Found Passenger side wheel bearing loose. Tightened it, that helped but didn't fully fix it.

2. Drivers side tie rod end ball joint sloppy. Replaced it and the shakes have gone.

Wondering what do you do if the passenger side goes? Do you have to replace the whole tie rod?

Similarly if a ball joint goes on the drag link?

I've been trying to fix the "shakes" for several years. I can drive through it but the mechanic doesn't like it for the road worthiness inspection. I'm getting a new Drag link made with a replaceable ball joint but it's interesting that there is only one replaceable ball joint within the standard Sierra drag link plus tie rod - all the rest are built in. It's a major to replace the tie rod with its 3 ball joints. I may end up getting one built.
Also look at replacing the spring bushes at both ends.

there is a fellow on here, not going to mention name's, but he was chasing a wobble for a long time, he "looked" at the rear of front bush's, not taking them out.
Looked good, but on my pestering him he took em out. The center hole was flogged out, replace bush's, wobble gone........

The first time I did the "inner" spring bushes they were the originals and I had to cut them out and the bolt with a cutoff wheel. Its been easier since.

I have the same issue... I have brand new suspension, bushes, uni's, fresh wheel balance and alignment, steering box.. and I also get the shakes at 90 +kmh.... maybe I have a bent axle?
