Im changing a diff/axle seal today. Once the axle is out does the bearing need to be removed to change the seal or does the seal stay in the diff housing. Was just going for a quick fix and just changing the leaking seal. But not sure if the bearing has to be changed.

Bearing is on the axle. Seal is in the housing.

Yep, after you pull the axle out, the seal will be in the housing.

If you're going through all the trouble of pulling the axles, it won't take you much longer to do the bearings too. Do you know when they were last replaced?

Here's some pics of WT bearing replacement, I assume the coily is similar?
