This switch came in my sierra when i bought it, its been bugging me for ages to what its for. Works like a volume knob, has a bunch of wires on the back. Any ideas?

had to resize the pic. Id have to pull half the dash out to see where the wires run. Plastic everywhere.

I'm going with dash light dimmer. Try fiddling with it at night with the lights on

Wasnt that one of the things that made a Surf a Surf? dash light dimmer?

Though you would think they would use a more factory looking switch

Maybe it just doesn't work? You'd think if it was a factory dimmer it would have a sticker there of some sort, maybe that's fallen off

I agree, it looks like a speaker fader to me.

I fitted one of these to my old XY Falcon some 20+ yrs ago (showing my age) because the stereo only had 2 speaker outputs and a L/R balance.
