just wondering what are some good mods to the G16B to get a little more acceleration out of of the engine, and also to drop the revs because currently when im sitting at 110km on the highway im reving about 3500

any advice would be great appreciated

Those 2 requirements are direct opposites.
Short of taking drastic measures like forced induction, you will never make enough power to get greater acceleration at lower revs.

make sure its tuned well, decent oil

Better exhaust, some people reckon extractors work well, but the original manifold (if not cracked) works well if you are on a budget

If you think you are low on power, check the cam timing, G16b's can flog out the bottom pulley keyway which really effects power (to the point that using anything under 2500rpm is a dream rather than a reality)

Tighe make a cam for it, dont know how it well it works

3500 is barely getting going on these engines, dont worry about it too much

life starts at 3200rpm or so on a g16... if you change gears around 4500 to 5000rpm you'll have very good acceleration and usable power.

3500rpm at 110km/hr is actually kinda low? mine at 110 is up more around 3800-4000 (just guessing).

changing up around 4500 to 5000 wouldnt that destroy my fuel economy?

also would higher quality fuel help with my problem?

well if you change at 4500 it'll drop to 3200ish on the next gear, keeping you in your peak torque for the motor, so technically the engine wouldnt be labouring as much.... it all depends on how fast you get to 4500rpm =) once you hit the desired speed you can still slip it up a gear or two to cruise, just make sure you drop it back a gear or two if you want that power back.

higher quality fuel is just to stop pinging- if you aint pinging on 92ron then just run it on that... i run mine on 98 though, its only $3-4 a tank extra and to me it does run smoother.

You also get more klms from the 98 so its works out to be cheaper anyway.

I never see over 4000rpm in day to day driving and I dont mope around, if you need to rev it higher than that you are doing it wrong or your engine is stuffed
