Doesnt work very well.
I did this when i first did the conversion but the extra load when your really drawing from the alt destroys the V belts. There isnt enough grip. The multi rib belts have less stretch and more surface area to grip the pulley.
I busted 3 V belts on a weekend out wheeling.
