I was just going back through a few old issues of my fourby mags and found and ad for scissor shackles ( i think they were from 4play offroad ) i cant seem to fins them on the net does any one know if they are still operating. I think i prefer the workings of the scissor shackle over the drop shackle, and also it doesn't look as obvious, does anyone know where i can find these?
Cheers.

My thoughts on the subject also. Perhaps the OP can explain the difference for us?

yeah missing links were the original drop shackle that laid against the chassis, then the scissor style come along which is essentially what we refer to as drop shackles

theyre the same as a drop shackle really... do a search on "drop shackles" and "missing link" on here and you'll get a ton of threads of most of us saying how bad of an idea they are =)

theyre good if you want to score higher points on a ramp though.

I ran missing links for some time on the front and didn't like them, they really didn't suit my set up and driving style.. They require above average unsprung weight(in comparison to what allot of zuks over here run), big tyres and big heavy diffs to get them to open properly. Would work far better on the rear I think, to compliment a RUF. Doesn't mean they don't work, but don't expect too bolt a set on and have baby jesus perform miracles.

found these revolving shackles on this website... http://www.rhinorays.co.uk/suspension.htm

seems like an a good idea in theory, giving the spring some extra movement without the hetick flex of drop shackles.
