Gday every one I am new to the site but want your opinion on how i can get some more power out of my 2011 Jimny.
it seems a bit gutless on the hills when towing.
just wondering if a hi-clone would help or if i needed a chip and exhaust.
at the moment it is stock standard,
any help would be appreciated
thanks Parth

take the bricks out from under the trailer's wheels, that'd help you get moving.

erm, take off in low range 1st then shift to high range first when taking off?
cant see the picture (stupid work filters) but judging by the responses, im guessing the jimny should be ON the trailer?

Id pay money to see you tow that at 100km/h with that little puss barge
particularly down hill with a cross wind

if your being serious and want more power yea, find a chip and get an exhuast. Or upgrade ya motor to an m18a ohh yea,
But your definatly trying too shit through a straw, towin that van with a jimny lmfao.

I think that the caravan might be a little on the heavy side for the jimny, its towing capacity is around 1300kg braked.. How much does the caravan weigh?
My jimny tows fine with a 6x4 trailor fully loaded with gear but thats only 600kg max.
That van is definately way to heavy. There isnt much you would be able to do to the jim to make it tow that safely. Its very risky towing that.
Buy a bigger car.

didnt relise the towing capacity of the Jimny was only 1300
the van is 2300 but tandem wheeled so that should be 1150 per axel(braked)
does tow good on the flats and unreal down hill though

IMO, That's insane, Jim's are not toe muels in any sense at all, not even slightly. If anything that would be dangerous. With strong winds and rain i believe that you are asking to have an accident. That van would throw your Jim all over the road like a bitch with ease. very dangerous.................

van is literaly twice the height of the jimny and about 4 times the length and from the looks of the pic its not very wide (only about half as wide as the jimny again)
tbh i think this bloke is having a lend! how many P platers do you know that could afford a van like that! and would opt for a van like that if they could aford over a poo troll or land cruiser! no to mention that the jimny suspension is holding the weight suprissingly well so well i bet its not even hooked up!
also id like to see ya back it without the mirror extensions

When the pictiure loaded a LOL'd!!!
I went... "HOLY SHIT"
DUDE. That is IN SANE!
Tandem axle or not, you are still towing 2300kg. suzooky87 is right. Strong wind or a slippery road and it'll be whipped around like a cat tethered to a ceiling fan.

Step 1. Remove Jimny
Step 2. Replace with V8 Landcruiser

Even if its just someone taking people for a ride (I admit it does look like a leg puller), there is a chance that it is for real. And when given the chance to give someone advice and stop them from killing themselves or others on the road i will do so, regardless if it is true or not. I have seen and heard of a few people doing stupid things that they thought were "ok" yet end in tragedy.
Not having a stab just think its worth saying something.

Clearly the problem is you should only be driving on the downhill sides of hills
