Just put a fresh 16b motor into a vitara that previously had a 16a motor. Used all wiring harness from the 16b and motor fired up on second crank.
Motor appears to rev very hard on start without accelaration at approx 2000rpm then drops to between a 1-1200 rpm briefly before hunting between 2000 and 1000 rpm. Sounds like its being given a bit of throttle but doesnt settle after a minute or so.
I would appreciate any help or pointers on what to look for ar what may require adjusting to settle this down.

Thanks Zukmeister... I didnt think water or lack of bleeding it would cause the revving but will check anyway...
Is there any easy to do checks i can carry out without all the diagnostic tools to determine if there are issues with the AFM and TPS are these adjustable or repairable items?

Try a vacuum leak I had a problem on my ok'd car like that wasn't a Zook but it ended up being a vacuum leak witch made it constantly search for a idle and sometimes made it stall hope it helps and good luck with the repair
