just looking at the under body protection offerered by MIC (egay) wondering if anyone has it, and what stuff would b the best to get, i think there is a transfer case cover, fuel tank cover and front dif protector?> any advice ? thanks

I have the fuel tank guard, control arm sliders, and large flat stylee transfer case guard.

Fuel tank cover is GOOD! tank fully protected from a considerable impact in my opinion. Had to cut away the parts of the heat shield that were to be covered by the armour or the guard won't fit.

Transfer case guard needed a few spacer washers to make it fit well, and I had to elongate one of the pre-drilled holes a little bit. No real problem for me. I think it offers some decent protection, but the compact smaller version looks tougher, I probably should have ordered that one. I was just worried that the smaller version would collect dirt inside it.

The Sliders fofr the control arms needed some of the holes elongating a bit with the drill again, and the studs that allign them to the chasis needed grinding down considerably on two out of the four items. Again this was no problem for me- took about 10 minutes with the grinder, and they now fit very well. I think they are very strong, and i thought the bolts and spacers that came with this kit were very good quality. Actually all the bolts with all the kits from MIC are good quality.

I would recommend any of these kits. I'm going to do a full review next time once I've fitted the front MIC bumper. You just have to be a little handy witha drill and grinder. They are basically chunks of shaped metal so they aren't exactly manufactured to super fine tolerances. the odd tweak here and there required.

I'm not sure about the diff protector, I am prefering to buy some diff sliders instead from the UK once I save some more money. Lighter weight and protects the part that needs protecting only. The MIC one might be a bit overkill.

I Just put on the transfercase protection plate,

its the one with the new arms also. and alloy bash plate

THE ARM BRACKETS DO NOT REPLACE YOUR FACTORY JIMNY ONES THEY MERLY JUST CUP UNDER THEM.

still does look good and will provide more than enough protection took me 20 mins to put in with no jack 14mm, 12mm, and ya rachet

with the rad arm guards, i wouldnt be elongating holes in your chassis, bad juju. I had the same problem when i bought mine from jimnybits, i think they are same brackets worldwide.

Anyway, what i did was grind the locating lug a bit skinnier on the guards themselves so if i ever take them off i havent damaged my car.

I got my Tcase guard from Jbits also. saved a heap of cash getting from there. and i think its exactly the same gear.

Im spewing now that I put the transfer guard in, All i did was replace 1 bracket at a time and slightly let the transfercase rest on a block of wood.

Now have a wierd whine/ whistle noise through 3rd to 5th if u push the clutch in it goes away.. ohhhhh man whats wrong now....! lol

wtf??? how does the MIC guard mount?? is it the moulded one or the flat one?
I went with the flat guard that you can bolt in without removing the mounts off the TC

IM glad it awoke whatever problem i had now rather than our wheeling. well MkII gearbox and tranfercase for my MKIII jimny get rid of the vvt gearbox system alltogether lol

I was going to get all the under body armory, but once i put the 31's on i never hit my chassis ...but i always hit my radius arm mounts
