Mine does the same thing I take its just makes the noise from the transfercase more noticeable due to the bash plate bouncing the noise back up in to the cabin.

ha ha ha cheers fella's yea I assume this is the case, that the sound of the transfer is making and echo of the plate sounds so weird ha ha ha.
ohh well im sort glad I brought this type of bash plate, I can Just bolt the plate back to its mounts when i head off-road, and all the time i have slightly stronger mounts  :D:D:D _________________ sorry CHOP

The Mic alloy transfercase on same as yours. When u buy yours because I can't find the the Mic store any where now. I want to buy one of his rear bars and mod it to suit a jerry can as well

I have the same MIC bash plate and have the same experience with the increased noise. I have concluded that the plate is reflecting the noise back towards the floor and therefore amplifying the transfer case noise. I don't have any vibrations. I have removed the plate several times to check this. There is no other explanation and probably the shape of the plate enhances the effect. My installation is identical to yours.
Something I have done is add MolyBond to the transfer case oil. This is a Molydenum Disulphode additive which reduces friction. My transfer is much quieter after about 1,000km with this additive. I also use Castrol VMX-M oil but that alone does seem to quieten the transfer.
By the way my plate is not a perfect fit. I have to apply some force to the plate to get the holes to line up. I am going to elongate the holes next weekend. How does yours fit?

I wouldn't mind one of there rear bumper to or a ORA one.

yes mike57 i had to elongate the left had side rear hole to fit up perfectly.
im glad someone else has experienced this problem as i was freakin the hell out. i have definalty concluded that it is the transfersound reflecting. in which case the transfer on the jimny's is bloody loud lol
how has the additive to the transfercase gone?? I am using vmx80 in there atm. i use to use moreys i think it was on my old rotor.
the plate is a good design, still keep your clearance and the alloy brackets get a bit of strengthening

Zuk85 The additive does make a difference and it runs quieter. I also think MIC have stopped selling. They have not been on ebay for a while now.

he does not sell on ebay no more due to to many complaints about shipping times. the only thing he had on there was a fuel tank bash plate for ages other wise was selling off his site.
they have a facebook page also i think. but yea I brought my plate in november got it in 4 days to cairns from nsw reg post.
was very quick and easy to deal with.
but yea the last 3-4 weeks his site has been down for maintenance so must be closed for chrissy and shit. _________________ sorry CHOP

The small MIC transfer guard is a poor design all around in my opinion. It's going to cup mud , sand and any other crap that gets into the cup-like shape and hold it against your transfer case and joints. It never occured to me about the aural problems you guys have with it.
I bought the broad flat MIC transfer case perhaps it aint as strong but it's got holes in it so crap doesn't get caught up inside and I have no noise issues. It stood up to my grounding out the jimny the other day, but that was on soft mud.
