Got alot of work to do on the vitara so I need to know which repair manuals I should aquire.

Are the pdf ebay versions ok ?

Which is the best indepth manual you have used, which should I buy ?

There are/used to be in line .pdf versions of the factory manuals on line. Be aware though that they are often for non-australian market cars and this can lead to lots of confusion, especially electrically.

Ideally, the paper australian market factory manuals are the best.

Most of the eBay manuals are copies of the Haynes manual or are actually for the GV/Grand Vitara. I haven't been able to find a genuine Vitara (or Sidekick or Tracker) FSM as a pdf.

So I will steer clear of the pdf versions...which is the better repair manual...if I am to pay $70 I hope its going to be indepth as my vitara is literally spread out all over the garage floor

I definately will be hoping to ask questions of you all. Hope you have the time to respond to some silly questions though !

Anybody live up in the hunter or is there a good suzuk club around newcastle ?

Haynes manuals are rubbish. They're massively confusing. An example - the one wiring diagram supplied in the book for a sierra is for a 1.0 litre, from memory. Then there's all these photos of vitara stuff.

If you need a workshop manual, go straight for the suzuki FSM.

Thanks mate. Where do I buy one of these ? I reckon suzuk dealer would charge a hefty price...

edit; just found a supplement online...however need to go to dealer to find all the correct part numbers relating to my VIN number...grrr
