I called the supplier today and they said that there is an 'A' and 'B' front spring (something which should've been mentioned earlier!!!). If I have them the wrong way round it could be pushing the passenger side up. There is supposed to be no difference in the rears though!

Are you serious, are some of you guys running uneven amount of leaves one side to the other.

I wouldn't consider running more leaves one side than the other, I cannot see that as being a sound practice, I am sure that it is frowned upon and that if you are in an accident and had your car inspected it would be declared defected and unsafe, you would be hung out to dry by insurance. Please just go buy some springs or change them side to side.

Yes I'm also serious.....

Would you consider putting a spring pack in with different camber in. Bet you wouldn't think twice about that one.. More free camber produces a spring pack with a higher rate. An extra leaf also produces a spring pack with higher rate.

The sierra is an unbalanced, DS heavy vehicle, thus to support it's weight and try balance it out you need higher rate springs on that side to compensate. Simplest and cheapest way to do it is add camber to the DS pack. If you need more support add a leaf to that side.

I fail to see your safety issue here. Place exact same rate spring packs (so same camber and number of leafs) on all 4 corners and you will find even a bog stock vehicle sagging decently to the DS side.

Who's to argue that a sierra sitting 50mm sagged on the DS due to same rate springs all round is 'safer' that a sierra that sits nice and level due to higher rate packs on the DS?

My drivers side sags as per many suzukis. I put 10mm spacers into the drivers side and it still sagged. My conclusion is something is 'pulling' the suspension into that shape. I think it's the panhards because they go from uper drivers side to lower passenger side. If it was the other way around probably the passenger side would sag a little. Thats my theory. especially when you use stock panhards on a raised vehicle like I am running.

That's easy to check - unbolt them sitting in the driveway. Nothing terrible will happen, but you'll see if it corrects the lean.

IMHO it won't though. The panhards exert no force on the springs, only the position of the axle laterally.

Not sure of the technical term,
but the torque twist effect of motor direction could put more pressure on the rhs too.
I did find that running a heavier right rear spring in my LWB Sierra tended to make it climb better.
Didn't pick front left up so easily.
Could be my imagination, tho?

That's true Chris, but not sitting stationary.

It's common for drag racers to preload the RHS of their suspension to counter this effect and get the car to leave the line straight.
