ok so Ive had my GTI mk3 using factory comp donk in for a few months now and it has developed a bit of a problem :?
when cold if I bring the revs up to 1500 and hold it, it will drop back to idle for a sec then got back up will do this over and over (even while driving which make it bunny hop) till its warm then its all good I dont have a vss hooked up can this be the problem?
also can the tps couse this?
if I bring the revs up past 1500 it wont do it.

cheers

TPS is out of calibration Jimbo, common problem. My turbo GTi daily does this sometimes. Also the cold Idle valve (thingo on the manifold with coolant hoses going into it) might be getting sad.

Everytime I've bled the cooling system on the GT after doing repairs it will flare like that until it bleeds up.

Redline certainly will tell you how to reset the tps.

Superduki.

Just because he is a mechanic doesnt mean hes not gonna get stuck with things lol..

Back in the day when we had idle probs with a gti my boss used to pull the do-dad thats on the manifold between the firewall. He used to pull it apart do something and refit it and then would be running fine again.

Its the cylindrical thing. i know im not much use but it could be the reason

Yep if that cold Idle valve isn't connected Jimbo then 99.9% guarantee it's your TPS. Do a search on Redline for "tps reset" and you will find your answer!

Cheers Superduki.

I was refering to dazook..

has to be tps. just fiddle with it when the motor is running to get a ruff tune.
