called a wheel joint today to get a price on getting my rims flipped, they said $110 per wheel, whats the consensus? expensive or not?

i dont mind paying for good work, but that still sounds a little bit rich to me

Cut and re-weld? If the work is good then probably not too bad. You'd hope paint was included tho

Offroad solutions will do them for $50-60 per rim. Maybe less.

getting rims flipped usually results in a BIG offset (like mine, which are -38mm) - so he's most likely after more width without using wheelspacers (which are illegal).

they are black king sunnys, 15 x 7 -13 (roughly measured), just like Alien said, i don't want to use wheel spacers.

more track width is what I am chasing, have NT diffs at present & am going to WT diffs as soon as I can get hold of some at a good price

how long can you wait for rims? it could be easier to order what i got as my other set of rims, which is procomp series 52 in 15x7 -38mm... they were about $140ea or so delivered... although i did have an issue with 3 rims having valve holes in the wrong spot, these were replaced at a later date under warranty.

the original set of rims took over 3 months to arrive and the replacements a similar amount of time because theyre made to order in the USA and then boated over to victoria before being despatched by road!

procomp do a 2" backspaced wheel thats about the same as a flipped rim
for around $150 ish a rim

What's the turn circle like with that much offset Alien? Mine is crap already with speedy 8" -24 rims

i can wait a little while, its not going to be back on the road for a while anyway but i paid $30 a rim for these, they are near new so I can still get em done and it not be too much of an expensive exercise.

the procomps were my first choice, but didnt want to have to wait three months for them, but if i had have ordered them when i first started they would have been here by now!!!

like i said before i might try a few local engineering places to see if the can do it, might be cheaper, cant hurt to ask & i can repaint em afterwards, will let you guys know how i go

it only gets worse by the amount you go wider... so mines like... 188mm worse than factory running 31x10.5's on the 15x7 -38... although with my stretched wheelbase its worse that that again, but yeah =)

edit: oh yeah, and a 15x8 -24 is almost identical width to a 15x7 -38...

u measure the backspace from the edge of the rim down to the rear face of the rim yeah ? if so my flipped rims are -70

-70 means its 70mm off the center line in the direction of the vehicle, so the outer edge is 70mm further out than if it was centered.

backspace is another measurement alltogether and way harder to use IMO.
