No but I'll try them this morning when Perth catches up with the east coast ;P
I don't like my chances though as they only have one part number for all M series Jimnys

SuziStore to the rescue, they've managed to track some down and amended their online store. Thanks Monkey for the suggestion, I always forget about SuziStore, maybe because they're on the other side of the country.

Yep still got wobble. The guys at suzi shop said it should drive like new after all that! they also checked all the bushes and said they ok. Looks like i have to live w it. Stupid Wobble.

Is yours a constant wobble, a wobble that happens randomly and maybe at a particular speed, or a wobble when braking/braking hard?

It wobbled whilst braking, i could feel it through steering wheel and brake pedal, This has stopped now courtesy of the new discs. It still wobbles at around 70-80 and is a constant wobble- it feels like its leading into the death wobble but it doesn't get that bad. I do not think the 1stop suzi shop shimmed the bearings as i recall them saying that it would shorten the life of the bearing and why would you want to do that. will check the panhard bolts when it stops raining.
Good luck with yours zukenutter.

benjlsmith, how many kms has your Jimny done? Panhard bushes could be worn, shimming does help a lot too. Also do you have an after market steering dampener fitted?

Yeah got a steering dampner, its done about 120 thou ks. i got the jimnybits 50mm lift in too- turns out be 75mm lift though. So its got castor correction bushes in. Had a look at panhard bushes they seem ok ( ie no cracks or squished bits) but im no mechanic. How your disc and pad install go? did it solve ya probs.

You may not have enough castor correction for 75mm of lift.
Disc and pads are awesome, has made a difference to braking and so far there's not even a hint of it breaking into a wobble. Experience tells me not to count my chickens too soon but it seems sorted. Is great to not have a pulsing pedal as I come to final stop too.

Just added this to post one, page one. Quote: Thought I'd add a bit of separation to the types of wobble.
As for the wobble, there are different types of wobble. 1. Wobble under brakes - most likely warped rotors - machine or replace 2. Random wobble, happens at unexpected times and varying conditions - worn panhard bushes or other linkage points 3. 15km/h range shimmy, usually 60-75km/h'ish - I think this is the most common and hardest to pinpoint - usually fixed by either/or/and any of the following (king pin bearings, adding shims to KP, wheel balance, toe in/out, caster angle adjustment, tyre type, wheel bearings)

this is really interesting!
i bought the missus a 1999 auto with 140,000kms bog stock as it still is. this was bought in 2010 as she has wanted one for ages!
so we bought the car, took it for a test drive everything was fine about 3 days after we bought it she drove it to the airport (works in sydney lives here) i get a call saying shes on the side of the road bring the rover quick and swap cars, she told me what happened, 70kms wobble so bad she couldnt turn had to stop in the middle of the road, so we swaped cars and i drove it home, sure enough it happened, took me by surprise! so i took it to suzuki/toyota and told them, they said they had never heard of it before in a jimny, but had in the SJ80, so they took a look $300 later no answer just a wheel alignment, got 1 km up the road and took it back..
cut to the chase or this will take for ever, its been to 4 diffrent places had everything from new kingpins to bushes done evin a drama over the engine mount (but not shims didnt know about that till reading this), the last thing i was told was it must be the steering box as it couldent be any thing else and thats $1800 installed as its a PS box we have spent fuckloads on and have archived nothing. we have tryed to sell it, no one will buy it cause of the wobble witch happens at 70kph no matter on the road dirt tar it dosent matter, its so violent that you can hear what sounds like something banning really loud in the front and cant even turn, you just have to stop where you are and hope no one runs up the back of you. Suzuki has been no help and just keep trying to get us to trade it in on a new one..... service ay!
so i will try the shims but otherwise we have a jimny sitting in the yard with a flat battery and no one driving it after almost being mowed over by a semi.
SUZUKI SHOULD FIX THIS! WE HAVE HAD ENOUGH! i will not be buying another suzuki jimny ever and i will not recommend then to anyone and will make sure i pont this out to anyone looking even if i don't know them.
not really helpful for you but this thread has helped me a lot thank you! that's my 2c ill stop clogging it up but i will be watching this very close!

This thread is all about that sort of experience rustyzook. I feel your pain and know what that wobble is like. Do the King Pin shims it helps a lot, also check the pan hard rod bushes as they probably only did the control arm bushes.
I agree that Suzuki have definitely buried their head in the sand and in doing so turned a lot of people off Suzukis forever. Rest assured it is fixable but will take persistence.

royce wrote: how bad a wobble are we talking here? to my mind the death wobbles are when it starts you must stop quickly and immediatley, you dont even have time to pull over, any that go away by changing speed or direction are a shimmy
I also note withteh kingpin shims, have you ever measured steering resistance like you are supposed to with sierras? my wobble is that bad that the tyres start to chirp and if i dont stop immediatly the gear stick hits on the center console. its not disc run out i machined them the other day they are fine. there is no play top and bottom of the wheel either to indicate wheel bearings or king pins. i have been playing around with the alinement settings the last few days to see if that helps got it set to 2mm overall to in atm still does it though. thanks every one for the help

It doesn't take "play" it takes preload
I'd make sure your kingpin preload is exactly within spec. If it's anything like a sierra, kingpin preload is much higher than you'd imagine.

My Jim has a wobble directly between 50-60, only a shimmy, but noticeable enough. Put 235s on 15x8s and the shimmy got a whole heap less. With this said, I drive very gently, and not that much off road

For the 50-60kph wobble check your bearings, and kingpins. I replace my kingpings bearings and sleeve. Tightened my wheel bearings and put on new rotors, and now wobble is gone. Didn't shim my kp nor do I run a steering dampener. But do run a 75mm jb lift and radius arms.

one thing ill throw in here is a bit of a tighten on the steering box seemed to make a difference for me. I had a real amount of slop sometimes when i parked my car on different slopes etc, could kinda just flick the steering wheel with one finger before it "took up" i tightened up the box by about 1/8 a turn, i havent had much of a chance to test as i had to leave for work. but i live in hope!
no power steering btw.

Okay, i have eliminated 99% of wobble now. so here are the steps i have taken... you may not like what you read, but it worked for me.
replaced wheel bearings DOUBTFUL ANY CHANGE, but cant prove otherwise, so just do it. replaced kingpin bearings + .5 shim (i used tensionometer to get correct tension) BIG CHANGE, DO IT replaced ALL tie-rod ends NO CHANGE, needed it anyway, worth doing didnt replace panhard bushes as they were new panhards, but check yours BALANCE wheels MED CHANGE, needed it anyway re-shimmed to .7 as i wanted it a bit firmer (top n bottom) SMALL CHANGE adjusted steering box to eliminate slack. SMALL CHANGE replaced rad arm bushes with super pro poly bushes BIG CHANGE
at this stage its pretty much gone, i can kinda feel it a bit (very barely) on certain road terrains (hit a bump a certain way maybe) but it quickly dissapates. for note, i had the REALLY REALLY bad wobble, where you loose control of the car and feel like your about to die. not the little faggy wobble. although i did have that also.
My fwd rad arms are Jimnybits arms i dont use offset bushes, so results may vary if you have offsets.
if i were to pick just a few things to do, i would say in this order *kingpins *panhard *rad arms (even if they look ok, mine looked fine! until they were out)

I have an annoying one now at about 100kph and suspect kingpins
But a while back i had the full on death wobble a few times. The last time I had the death wobbles it hit me in the wet towing a box trailer. Almost jacknifed on the curve of the pacific hwy as it goes through south grafton. Jimny sideways with a trailer on a highway in the wet OH SHIT I WAS SCARED but somehow kept it rubber side down.
Took it to my mechanic and all he did was tighten the front panhard rod. With a spanner about 3 foot long, maybe longer. So he made it tight. And voila no death wobbles ever again (SO FAR)
