look at the stock jimny in 1975

Image

Back before the metro sexuals thought offroading was awesome.

As for vinyl wraps, they look weird.

Its not like i'm the only one.

This english bird watcher bought this brand new:

No, a lot of time has passed.

I gave the jimny a miss back then and bought a busa.

Got rid of the busa and am back to jimny.

This thread was supposed to be about paint but all the fags on here have fixated on my homophobia.

Well you've basically said that every Jimny on the forum is Gay so what do you expect. D'oh!!
Sort of like you're casting for action.

This guy has to have something wrong with him...

Maybe he doesn't want everyone knowing he's gay, that's why all the tactics to get around it? He sounds like some high school douche bag trying to be one of the cool kids by doing it on the cheap.

Maybe he can get out another loan and waste his money that way ;)

Thread in a nut shell: OP is an idiot trying to not get picked on by randoms and is a closet gay boy. Has some stupid ideas and not many else on anything.

its not that man

its an australian wide stereotype that vitaras and jimnys are gay hairdresser cars

I've heard it mentioned by just about every guy that i have driven with when they see a metallic blue or white jimny

Seen this guy in my town with a new white jimny, thought it looked cool. Watched him get out, sure enough, gelled hair, gay tshirt and faggoty look on his face.

Stereotypes are there for a reason

Yes they are...

Hey didn't you buy a Busa? Compensating for something? I can just picture you meeting new people "Hi I'm StonedPirate, I'm not gay... I ride a fast motorbike so I'm definitely not gay... you see it goes very fast... too fast for someone who is gay... Oh sorry, I'll have a small big mac meal with a diet coke"

how is a matt black vinyl wrap any different to painting it matt black, apart from being totally reversible.

now fuck off back to stoned pirate land & try & find some common sense before posting anymore.

well, vinyl is good on street cars, but off road it tears easily.

Tearing through the bush with 1000 dollar vinyl getting shredded doesnt sound like fun.

Sounds like common sense to me

scratches in paint are fine and can be resprayed.

Torn vinyl with metallic blue showing looks cheap and nasty and needs to be revinyled every time i go out.

Its just not practical.

Also, mid summer heat on vinyle creates bubbles.

I have to drive through bush to get to the beach.

Look man, i appreciate the suggestion but its not for me.

I will be happy with a home spray job.

If its not for you, thats fine.

Will sign up to a car painting forum.

Sorry about calling your cars gay, i dont mean that you are gay and even if you are, thats fine by me.

But personally, if i'm spending the cash, i want a car that i like.

If i dont like the stock car, i will mod it like everybody else.

If matte black is not for you, that is fine.

Good day sirs.

What happened to not buying old. Seriously, get it together.

I don't get you at all. Don't buy a Jimny, you'll make people think they are a gay hairdresser car. Honestly, grow up!

What about a nice Great Wall, cheap as chips and would look great in matt black.

NON GAY 'cause it's a UTE

I was being sarcastic. I would never buy an old jeep.

Or a new jeep. Wranglers are gayer than jimnys.

A good point here, widely know as a bike able to go fast in a straight line and not a lot else, I am sure it impresses people to say it

At least you sort of understand how you managed to put 1/4 of the members of this forum off-side. I think.

And no need to bash the busa. It is the greatest bike i have ever ridden and does fine on corners.

The straight line joke is only said by people that dont ride or are only interested in litre track bikes.

It handles better than most bike out there and i have ridden most of them

I rode your mum, the ride wasn't that flash & knowing you came out of her gash, put me right off... so I kicked her to the kerb, then whistled for a cab and when it came near the license plate said FRESH and it had dice in the mirror. If anything I can say this cab was rare But I thought naw forget it yo homes to Bel-Air.

I had never think they re gay..... not even back home when I used to have a SWB Prado because my brother sell it to me to keep it in the fam... when my other two brothers had SWB landcruisers 4.5lt engines (I wanted one) but spetially I wanted a 60 series with the 4.0 lt v6 engine.....

I always though they werent good ofroad and the "1.3" engine was a joke.... "how come a 4wd could be so small" kinda thing.

but latter I discover bout the zooks, look for mods, pictures, and even drove one.... I own one now  and I discover that they re as capables o sometimes even more than any other 4wd out there...... in fact I enjoy when others see me and think "pppffff... little toy car" and later they have to swallow their words when they see it wheeling

got laughed endlessly by my brothers when I bough it (one has a hilux, other a ford F-150) and now they stay like 8O everytime they see a pic of me wheeling

but never, ever, ever, have been called "gay" or hear anyone say jimnys are a "gay car"...... the closest thing I ve heard is about the coilys and is just in this forum

like most of ppl said here... ad some mods and the car would look

and like I said bfore... who cares bout other ppl think???.... u should care bout u.... just remember to smile when u drive pass one of those big ass manly men trucks bogged in ur little 1/8 of the price car

and like zukenutter said and I try to said bfore.... is not bout the paint... great if u do it (and take lots of pics in the process).... but its a bit sad u doing it bocse u re afraid other ppl call u "gay"

just put a big pirate skulll on the sides and cranck some Pantera in the stereo with a couple of machettes in the back and no-one whould think ur gay then

and btw: electric blu jimnys like mine only where released till 04 if im not worng..... white (well any other 98% of 4wd in Oz is white so ppfff whts the issue).... and they do re lots of 2011 black jimnys, or dark grey... u just have to look for them... or wait till one appear

but seriusly have a look in here on the rig section, google, ect for mod jimnys and try to go wheeling in one to see if u still think they re gay..

and for me jeep wranglers look less gay than jimnys.... a proper mod one look farcking mean..... and less likely ur friends call u gay in one of them..... and pretty cheap to buy too... problem is fuel economy

I disagree. Matte black is one of the coolest colours you can paint a car. Period.

But if it is not done properly, it suck more salty balls than a hot pink Mazda 121.

ButtPirate is wanting to do it on the cheap. Which is a terrible idea.

Personally I think a proffesionally painted matte black jimny on some 18's would look fuckin sweet! Probably still go alright up the beach too.......

I'll have to disagree with you here.

When ever I see a matt black car I wonder to myself if the owner couldn't afford or was to lazy to finish the job and put a top coat on it.

Matt black is only ever to be used as a primer.
