i recently brought and installed some 2" efs springs and have installed them but the cars deemed un drivable for the thing bunny hops down the road coz the suspensions way to hard will they wear in a bit after time or should i just remove the load leaf ? any advice is welcome own me if you must but i have no idea what to do first car and first spring change.

what angle are your shackles?

did you change shocks too?

your shocks might not be long enough and could be at full extension at ride height.

sweet yeha that could be it there ome shocks i got from dank (dan from hobzees) i was planning to use them till i could afford some commo and hiace shocks maybe there not quite long enough i had a look on outters and couldnt find the part numbers in the bible for the commo hiace shocks if anyone could get them for me itd be much appreciated

cause they are cheap they are made from shit steel so they have to put more leafs in to support themselves so they are stiff

load leaf wont do anything, start with pulling the shortest leaf out of every spring and see how you go

i would check and see, its easy to do. just unbolt your bottom shock mount and pull it off too see how far down it extends.

and have a look at your shackles too, if they are close to vertical then pulling out a leaf could be quite beneficial.

This is the reason I went OME's cause I heard from plenty that the EFS's were way to hard but as said check shackle angle and shocks first! Robb.

thanks guys i just whipped out side and had a quick look the front one has no extension at all and the rear has half an inch maybe less i dunno how i didnr notice when i put em in must of been bucause the jack was under the dif i made them fit :S

check your tyre pressures!...stock tyres no more than 22psi....as you go larger rubber drop the psi a little.

i had to pull the load leaf and the next one up out of my efs because they were so bloody rough. seemed to sort it right out.

'joeblow'what would you suggest running a 31' silverstone extreme at? I have them at 30psi atm but they seem a bit to hard. The car does see a reasonable amount of road driving.

81147 (hiace/Hilux) for the back of the car

81340 (VS commodore wagon rears) for the front of your car.

I run my 31 bajas at 26, seems good for me.

the larger the tyre from stock..the lower the pressure. as a rule of thumb for me its 2psi lower per inch of tyre over stock.

i have 31" extreme's on 15x8 rims and at 20psi the side bits dont touch the road. still drives ok with 9psi in them.

LOL, bloody EFS... been there done that when they were called Carroll's Springs. Super stiff ride, I jarred my back driving off a curb just after they were put in. This was when I still had road tyres, so not sure how they would have gone with bigger rubber. Definitely had no flex though. I just think they are the wrong choice of spring for a sierra, for offroading. OME seem to have the best spring design........................... IMO

wat about the front shocks does the vs wagon one have the same top mount if u no wat i meant the bolt thing with thread like the stock sierra front mount or is it the same as the rear?

Just out of curiosity why would you run a shock that is valved for ON road conditions in an off road vehicle???
Spending lots of time on bike suspension with spring rates & re vavling this seems a tad odd.

So much softer. Offroad shocks tend to be way too stiff for a sierra.

i have KYB commodore shocks on my sierra, they are at
least a billion times better then the rancho5000's that i had.
