what lift have you done to your 2L as it looks to be alot more fun than a lift the width of a finger nail? do you know if the solid axle swap works? what is different on the 1.6 to the 2L?

You'd think by now that Calmini would know that their kit doesn't bolt into the SV420/620 "Sports" series of Vitara's but, no apparently not... (Mr Calmini I'm looking at you)

It doesn't not "bolt in". The chassis rails are further apart than the SE416 (1.6), the rear all bolts in as per normal but the front is what causes issues. The diff drop brackets need to be modded to suit (60mm each side from memory) & the cross member needs to be clearanced to allow for the diff drop & maybe some of the strengthening webbing off the bottom of the alloy diff. Have a look thru Stuey's & my build thread for pics of the diff drop brackets & crossmember chop.

To counter he extra weight of the motor I am running the 2.5" GV calmini springs. You will also need to buy a pair of ball joints to suit the SE416 as they are part of the control arm on the SV's. The swaybar doesn't fit as it bolts to a different position compared to the sway bar bolt holes on the Calmini arms, SE swaybar bolts in. I haven't run a swaybar for 6 years!

Then there is all the other odd things like front bars, brakes, fuel tank etc...

let me know if you need any more info.

i'm running the fiberglass FTS one from ODA but there is an airflow one which is a normal plastic material, i would prefer the plastic one but i don't like the shape of it running down the guard. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Airflow-Snor ... 2a163428df

5.12's will bring it back to stock on 31's & they're a 26 spline front.

not sure if this is a Domestic market only situation, but EVERY auto 1.6 vitara front cut I have imported from the motherland ( atleast 6) has been 4.6:1 ratio.

Who knows. But the R&P's that were in my ute for 12 months were both from my auto frontcuts ex-japan...... 4.6:1. I still have a few more sitting around. They also ALL had auto hubs.

both of those diffs from the front cuts have spent quite a bit time in the front of mine with a 5.12 rear & both front cuts had auto hubs.

were they 22 or 26 splines, as the two 5.12's were 22's, just thinking that the last of the auto Escudo's might have been 4.6:1 & 26 spline.

Can't remember Gus. I junked everything except the R&P's. I see what I have left. At one point I had so many I just chucked them out. :?

2 were X-90's, so same as ours. Atleast 2 were 94-95 SWB ( late model vit dash ) and the rest I don't recall.
