Well I was all ready to go ahead and get my $1650 lift kit for my GV then one day I sat back and thought that that's a lot of money given my onroad/offroad ratio is about 80/20.
I'm now considering spacers instead to cut the costs but I have heard mixed reviews about doing it that way.

Has anyone had spacers done to their GV and if so how did it go?

go the suspension kit rather than a spacer lift. I installed the Ironman kit to ours and it made it drive so much nicer on the road and raised it by easily 45mm.

Ironman kit is only $880 plus instal.

spacer kit is about $500 - $650 and your still got thye spongy factory suspension

ODA. spacers and new rear shocks. Wont need to replace struts but you will have to put longer rear shocks in .

You can only use poly spacers in the rear. In the front you need a manufactured strut spacer. The rear spacer would be cheap as but the strut spacer is where the money is....plus you need longer shocks for the rear when installing any suspension/spacer lift. Stock ones just are not long enough when lift is installed.

A spring lift is always better than a spacer lift, as even with a spacer, you will only get the same amount of stock spring travel, and the stock springs are to soft/spongy IMO... but there are some circumstances were a spacer is a good/only option... i was thinking about spacers to lift the front of my GV up a bit, but i have found some Dobinson Springs that will do 45mm lift front...
I also have the Ironman Kit, and it made a big difference, even if you arnt going offroad alot, it feels so much better onroad too, alot less body roll, and much more responsive, even my mother in her 03 GV, says the stock springs are to soft...

I would go the last option, and get the full 40mm Lift Kit, will be alot better !

theres zero flex on offer or at least not enough to worry about that its just

With the kit im getting, it includes new everything, was yours as well?

He's not exactly competitive on price.

When I was looking for an airbag-compliant bullbar his was more then 50% more expensive then ECB....and looked like it belonged on a Mack truck.

Not many airbag compliant alloy winch bars out there for the GV3. thus the expensive pricetag.
