Hi, I own an 86 sj50 sierra tintop and was wondering can I just swap my rear leaves upto the front?? Will they bolt up or is it more technical than that?
I was then going to purchase some rear ome 2" leaves for the rear, would tis work?
Any info would be great, I hsve access to some extended shackles if needed also.
Ive heard about this swap but it it straight forward or more involved? Cheers

So what do I do? Do I try drill the rear mount or do I have to move the front one forward? Or can I just bolt the rear spring straight in? Im a lil bit confused

I have some 135mm shackles too if that helps?

You can redrill the mount and run a longer shackle. Or you can do a chassis extension. and run a standard shackle. It's up to you.

with an NT you can't really redrill the hole as the spring mount isn't big enough, you really need to do a chassis extention and reposition the front hanger. This requires "GOOD" welding and not something a learner welder should attempt.

No offense but you don't sound knowledgable or skilled enough to complete this mod without assistance. You've come here to learn, good move, my suggestion learn more first.

Do you know why you want this mod, do you know what benefit and more importantly what side affect it has. Like going to the Doctor, they always explain the drawbacks to medicine.

What's currently stopping you driving where you want to go, if you don't know find out first then look to fix that. Just because all the cool kids are fitting musical air horns doesn't mean you need them.

Wanting a bit more lift and some more flex offroad, my mate is a fabricator and he will be doing the welding.
I was thinking what if we add more metal to the rear mount and then drill it say 20mm back and use 135mm shackles up front, will that work? Im thinking my front diff should only move around 10mm forward then? Or am I thinking wrong?

Then on the fear I have some ome 2" springs, should this work? Do I use standard or extended shackles on the rear?

Why do half the job, extend the chassis and get both the benefits of the RUF, flex and Wheel base.

I run RUF on the front with extended shackles and standards on the rear, really depends on your springs and how it sits once it's done.

So im adding a piece to the front of the chassis, how far forward do I need to move that mount?
