hi guys im new to the forum and am currently searching to get a sierra.

what i really want is a tintop swb leafy sierra... with air con.

do these exist? i can find later sj80 sierras that have air con but have had no luck finding any leafys with air con.

when did air con start appearing in sierra's? was it in soft tops and hard tops?

thanks

mitch

My '95 HT has aircon. I think it was a dealer fitted option.

I've got a 92 tin top with factory air... I don't know how I would survive without it!

I know a guy that fitted jinmy aircon into his coliy. He said there was a little bit of plastic welding involved but doable.

Yeah you can retrofit a setup. To be honest though, I only really use mine on ridiculously hot days because you get a lot of good airflow anyway with the windows down and it's not like there is a lot of insulation trapping the heat in. I never use it while I'm wheeling (except for beach driving) because I like to be able to hang out the window to help with wheel placement.

You can actually still buy all of the parts brand new but be prepared to take out a second mortgage. I'm talking well over a grand here, otherwise have a look out for a second hand complete setup, it'll be a bit of a pain to fit but it's definitely doable.

I've got a 92 hardtop with factory air con (actually might be selling the whole car it in the not too distant future)
I've also seen a soft top leafy (think it was a 94) that had factory air con also

They do exist but are very rare

save creating a new thread, i'll hijack this one. 8) do the NT sierra air con systems fit a maruti since they use the same dash?

That's actually a very good question...or will a WT air con fit the maruti?

NT AC will fit a Maruti if the dash is the same.

I have wrecked 7 or 8 tintops with AC and 1 softtop.

I have AC in my 88.5 WT LWB and in my 89 WT tintop. :D :D :D
