ill-eagle, unless it's a mega light weight trailer & car you're towing, pretty sure the maximum weight for a SWB Vit is 750kg's braked/unbraked

Vitara is 500kg, maybe 550kg

Ive towed an empty car trailer, across a yard, even that was a bit much for it

I towed an MR2 about 2km without the car trailer...
Wasn't too bad through town, low speed limit and I was in low range the whole way
Like the rest said, not recommended unless it's a light load.

What are you planning to tow???

can go pear shaped really quick towing with a SWB, especially one that doesn't have the power to pull you out of trouble on a downhill.

Thanks for the info guys, I thought it would be a bit much for it.

I have a Toyota AE71 track car that I would like to keep unregistered and tow to track, no risk of fines or defects.

Think I might have to rego it!

I A-frame my Samurai around with my SWB 2.0 Vit but only when the road is dry and I'm pretty careful on the downhills. I'm looking for a LWB though for towing and camping.

Hahahaha... How would you feel?

I took the tow bar off my vit as it is never going to be able to tow anything worthwhile...

probably not worth towing the AE71, since you will get fined anyway... at least you might be a chance of getting away if you were driving it..lol
