Hey guys, im thinking of running 35s and i need to put in appropiate gears in the diffs. With ratios higher the number slower/lower the gears are? I want to keep original zuk difs

Yeah i was looking at low range but wasnt so sure what i was after cheers

You'll want transfer gearing as well if you drive anything steep.

Whilst 5.12's alone will correct 35's on road, gearing off road will be terrible. Even though it's effectively the same as with stock tyres, the added weight and traction of the 35's will kill clutches and be scary on hills, even more so with lockers.

i plan on running 35s and will have 4 speed auto, 4.88 diffs and 6.5 transfer gears
should be a good thing

Where in the hunter will this be driven?

if your running 35's stock gbox and with transfer 6.5's. 4.88 is ok i guess. it will be screaming at 100km/h though.

Another guy on here has the same setup, with lux diffs, he has 4.55's.

I'm going to test with same setup, 4.3 with lux diffs. High revs chews petrol, and is noisy and bad for the motor. Trying to get the motor about normal revs for a sierra

Depends on what you constitute for high revs. Ideally you want to rpm to be high enough that you are producing enough torque to counteract the wind and rolling resistance at the highest volumetric efficiency possible. This should give you the best fuel economy/resistance figure. Around 3.5-4k seems pretty good for the G16b.

mine works out at 3634rpm at 100kph

Anywhere 35's would be any help is going to break the driveline in some way.

May want to consider some custom zook bits.
