1. Did a few weeks experiment for my fuel usage Fill tank until it filled up the hose I drove the Jimny around for a while, no more then 4000rpm and no more then 100km/h Both times I roughly got 300-320km out of the tank Running 215 tyres, has new airfilter. What do I have to check, o2 sensor? Tps? Spark plugs, any thing else I have to look out for.
2. Went to my local shop this morning and when I came out of the shop I noticed I had alot of water under my car. Had a look and noticed my water pump had some water around te housing. Was in the shop for good 5 minutes and it was quite alot of water, but the pump isn't leaking that fast, atleast a couple of minutes per drop. So can't really see were all the water came from. Wasn't running ac either.
3. What are some good quality shock bushes. My new ones in my procomps are stuffed already. So bad there metal to metal.
4. How much would you pay for a m18a engine. I can get a complete engine for $850 but not sure how many kays it has on it.

surprised at your bushes... I got a set of urethane ones from jimnybits for backups when mine go. They were pretty cheap.
I took my injectors out the other day and took to a place to be checked and ultrasonic cleaned, may wanna give that a go. mine seems a lot smoother now, dont know about performance but.
id pay that for an engine! wheres that from?

fuel economy is about right, I always get bout the same.... I might be ble to do 20km extra but I always put fuel when the clock is realy close to the red line, I dnt like to risk the extra km, I go paranoid to the the needle on the red mark ahaha....... well assuming u have a non-vvt jimny like mine

How many L do you need to refill the tank? My jim gets to around 340KM when the fuel light comes on. When i refill it will only take about 34L of fuel, so there must still be 6L left after light comes on.

Depends on how litres you fill with? What do you work out the L/100km to be? Is this strictly around town or freeway included? What fuel do you use? 98, 95 or E10?
With 215's, 3" lift and a bullbar (are you carrying any other weight?) your not doing too bad to be getting around 10-12L for city.
I'm currently testing out the iridium spark plugs on mine to see if there is any difference to normal ones. Pure city driving I'm getting around 9L/100km (non iridium plugs), but I've got an 07 Auto VVT with no mods

That's around town, highway and country driving Our highway speed is only 90km/h up here. Can't Remember how many litres it was to fill it, stupid of me to not take notice. I'll have to do another experiment nd take note. I think it needs a good service. Not windging about the fuel economy it just bugs me how people can get 400k plus in there Jimnys.
Engine would be good but got to wait till I'm off my ps, just would like to buy it early so I have it here ready.

I should chuck on my roadies on because economy was around 400-450k
With 235s and no gearing I'm getting about 350ks per tank.
The VVTs seem to drink a bit more then the G13bb's....

question 2- waterpump, it might leak pretty fast when you first stop driving and turn the engine off, as the cooling system is under pressure and will force the water out past the dodgy seal or hole. Check and top up all your fluids when the engine is cold, clean up around the pump, get it up to operating temp. and turn it off, open the bonnet and see if you can spot the leak while its hot.
The bulk amount of water you saw might not have been from your vehicle.
as for fuel tank capacity- a lot of zooks have bashed in fuel tanks from hitting rocks etc when off road- which will reduce fuel tank capacity. check yours!

zooky08 wrote: I'm non vvt and your geting more milage then me with 235s That's what I was getting at, I fill up when the needle reaches the line, and it only ever takes 35L. My speedo is about 10km's out at 100, so when it says 320, I add another 30kms to the odometer to work out how far I've actually driven. I don't have other mods tho, so no extra weight to lug around, or break the wind less effectivly. So a Bull bar, winch, recovery gear, etc etc would add up.

So got the jim unto temp then turn car of as I was advise to and nothing happened So turn the car back on and reved it abit more and I see that my top radiator hose busted above the waterpump. So this is why I probaly assumed it was the pump.
