Before you ask I have been searching this site now for hours and Im still not convinced.

I bought a 1999 Jimny today and its getting a tough dog 80mm lift kit tomorrow. Was just wondering whats the biggest tyres I can go without cutting away stuff haha. I want to order the tyres tomorrow so ASAP replys would be greatly appreciated :)

Im just getting some black sunrasias but what size??

15s or 16s? will 30x9.5s fit??

Will i need an offset?? and what??

I'l be mainly doing sand and mud no rocks but still has to be alright on the road as its my daily.

cheers guys

Anything above 215/75 r15 will need cutting.... unless you get castor corrected arms from JB, then you could get away with 235/75 r15 with out cutting. Have you thought about gearing at all as well? IMO anything bigger than 235's need gearing...

Yes but you see they are all neally going the sierra case and reduction gear way.
Some ppl put up with it but IMO 215 are the biggest you go before gears.
Jimny 1st low is already shit as it is, so adding more weight and bigger Tyres are going to make it shitter.

I'm running a tough dog 3" lift and BFG 215 A/Ts.

Here's a few pics...

Just after installing the lift, still on stock alloys.

Mines a none winch bar so you'll pay more for a winch bar then a standard bar.
Plus it's a airbag bar aswell.

Mine has a 50mm TD lift, no caster correction at all, and it clears 235s. And it would clear them no worries if it didn't have 15x8s on them....

Image

I had to trim about 15mm from the front bumper. 5mins with a jig saw....
