Hi I'm lookin at an arb front bar for my sierra just wondering how pol made it fit with a 2 inch body lift. Also is there any probs with tyre clearance?

i modded mine to suite the body lift by chopping off the bits that get
in the way off the headlights.
almost looks factory.

I cut off the brackets and welded in some 5mm flat bar, then welded some 5x50 angle to the front of the chassis rails. My bar just happens to be for sale too

sounds good but i cant weld. anyway of attaching without welding to chassis rails can a bracket be bolted to the rails? you got any pics of youe chassis mount? how much is postage to 2282 nsw

You should be able to make a bracket that bolts to your chassis rail, then the bar bolts to that.

It's too heavy to post, i'm getting freight quotes for a few other people as well, i'll let you know once they get back to me (prolly Mon/Tue).

If you want to get a quote yourself it's 25kg in weight, 140cm long, 52cm wide & 27cm high. Cubic weight ends up around 49kg.

Anyone got pics of an arb bars standard mounts

mines mounted standard and i have 2'' body. i left it that was coz its mounts would be alot stronger, there would be more leverage angle on the mounts if u hit anything hard if u mount it up 2''. still looks ok as is i think and just doesnt get in way of lights. also no work required

How does it clear tyres being so low down

no problem with clearance
32" tyre diff moved forward about 35mm
50mm body lift bullbar on standard mounts.

When you extend the wheelbase you have less clearance on the ground for going up and down ruts.. just wondering why people extend their wheelbase

have a look at my approach angle even with a bullbar on and my tyre
to firewall clearance. the difference to the ramp over would not be measurable.
i can drive over a fairly high step without dragging stuff.

So bar hasn't been chopped or anything that's a fully standard bar mounted as standard. Except for the top outside hoops

Hey McWilly this is what I've done to my ARB Winch bar on my Sierra it requires a bit of cutting and welding of the mounts and you'll have to cut the outriggers off the bar and make some sort of bracket for them, but here are the main mounts of the bar:


Cut the Red section out then move it down and re attach it 2" lower.


Then make up some plates to fill the Sections colored in Blue, the bottom one is just for a little more support. Cheers Robb.

They are the tubes that come off the chassis right next to the front spring mounts. They mount the original bumper. It looks like yours have been cut off already?

Hey mcwilly mate if that neat red zuk is a photo of your car I would spend a few bucks and have someone reweld the mounting points for you like bogfrog has said then it will all look right. In my opinion the arb bar is the neatest looking mass produced bar you can get, I think you would be crazy to chop the end tubes off the bar unless it was all twisted up and bent like sheps.

yea thats my litle zook thanks for the comment. yea i chopped those off when i put the 31's on. i ordered the arb bar today will be here wednesday also spoke to a guy on outers and piranha make a bar lift kit for the arb bar to suit 2' body lift so ill be ordering this to, direct bolt on then and can be used on a zook with out body lift then to.
