They will pick the shit out of it
It will scare the buyer cause they think everything listed is a problem, not just information
You might as well tell em not to bother and save their money and find another car, they aren't a buyer you want

I had an RACQ check done on my car before I bought it. They are very thorough with their examination and will pick up all sorts of little things. I can't find it right now to double check, but if I remember correctly they classify all of the faults into sections based on how critical they are, or at least say whether it is major or minor. I don't know what they would say about mods like that but as long as the buyer is aware that the car has had the mods done to it, should the results from the RACQ check really surprise them?

So really its just a list of problems with the car sorted into categories to tell the buyer what they found.. Obviously it cost money to get done??.. Things like 1 headlight is duller than the other?? Do they drive the car at all??

From my experience, they don't really look at too much mechanically, which when I'm buying a car is my main concern. They can spot body repairs 4km away for what its worth.

The car gets taken to a mechanics (well mine did - I assume it would have to be an RACQ approved mechanic) and checked there. I had things such as slight play in the rear uni picked up on, and a compression test performed.

I think Royce is right brad. If the person buying it is put off by the RACQ inspection then they are really not the type of person that wants a modded sierra

thanks guys had the fella come out for the inspection.. Picked on it a fair bit being a 4wd.. The things he said to me.. Wheel bearings, possible Cv's, Brake master leaking inside sierra.. L/h window doesnt wind up all the way, R/h window rattles, a boot missing from the drag link.. no.plate isnt under the no. plate light, my indicators were dirty, mudflaps and.. something to do with the emmisions because im missing a pipe that goes from the intake airbox to the exhaust which..??? had no idea.. He missed the fact that there was no heater in the car.. said nothing about the 31's and nothing about the virtual lift..

The pipe taking the warm air off the exhaust isnt useful on startup, (the exhaust is cold too). Its useful for maintaining inlet air temp when its cool.
When its about 10 degrees or below, and its humid (raining/foggy etc) the carby feezes up. Only freezes up at high speed, near fully open etc. 80km/hr + Total PITA

Due to the fuel vapourisation and the dynamic effects of the venturi in the carby, it can reduce the air temp in the carby to below freezing. To save me a lot of typing, i googled and got this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carburetor_heat

I have a ruff idea of what is being spoken about, but, at 10°, that is either bullshit or something is terribly amiss.
I have driven carb cars at temps well below 10°, never a freeze up, below 0° and never a freeze up.

I was told by someone who used to have water injection fitted to a '74 Chrysler! Lancer had to remove it when leaded petrol couldn't be bought anymore - no anti-icing agent in the fuel meant the water injection would ice-up due to no carb pre-heat! And that was in QLD!

Nothing is a miss, without the intake air temp regulator hooked up, carby cars will freeze up when its cold and humid, and you are doing highway driving.
In most places, there isnt humidity when its cold.
If you think its bullshit thats fine, im sure its possible you havent experienced it. Other people I know have, besides why else do you think suzuki and other car manufacturers install these things on cars? The onset of the carby icing up is a loss of power, whilst cruising. Generally have to either ease off the throttle, to melt the ice, or open the throttle further. If you open the throttle further its fine for a while, eventually you get a loss of power again. Process continues until you get to WOT, and the car will start chugging, and will stall if you back off on the throttle. If you really push it far, you can freeze the throttle into wide open position. You will eventually stall and have to wait a few minutes for the ice to melt.
If you rig up the hot air intake, its not a problem. If you disconnect the snorkel, and use the engine bay air, the icing up problem only happens on really bitterly cold wet days. But still happens enough to warrant fitting up the warm air intake.
But ive found I have to be doing 90+ km/h in a sierra. Otherwise even mild sub zero, I havent experienced it.
