im wanting to upgrade but so far i have had, a drive in drive out price of 4k but i have to leave my 30,000km engine or buy the m18vvt from another place that doesnt need a exchange motor for $2,600 seems abit much ? so im now looking at crashed auctions if the price it right ill buy a complete one and sell some parts off it or try buying from over east has i have seen some wreckers have them on there web site for $1000 any advice would be great

Auctions are good. Last time i was there i saw a m15a holdencruze go for $300, I would of bought it if i wasnt busy already.!
The Sydney/Milperra ones are VERY competitive. Some cars go for top dollar even with the full writeoff rules now.

$700 for an 80,000kms, $1200 for 20,000kms.
Anyone who wants more then $1200 is a chancer imo. I had absolutely no problems finding plenty of donor M18's or any other M' series around Sydney area. Sorry can't help with you out at Perth though, perhaps prices will be inflated a bit.

Are all Liana's 1.8? I think the older ones are 1.6 from memory..

a $400 sc12 supercharger can be a good option for an M13a on low boost you could probably get away with stock tune but larger injectors.

I think these guys will ship one out to you, and you can negotiate - I got $100 knocked off, and another $70 knocked off when I paid cash. They also don't strip the engine down very much, so it'll be a whole engine more or less, no nasty suprises or missing parts. http://www.newmodelwreckers.com.au/Or you can try these guys, but they might be more expensive http://www.suzukiwreckers.com.au/page2.php
