G'day... Very keen on getting a Jimny in the near future, and I was just wondering if you would need to change the panhard rods if I got a 2" lift? I saw that they cost a fair bit, and I was kinda trying to get away with spending as little as possible when getting the lift.
I went with the 40mm lift because I was told I would not need to extend the brake lines or use adjustable panhard rods or caster correction bushes. I just did the lift first. Next to correct a slight wobble that I got from the bigger tyres I fitted the caster correction bushes. They helped a bit. Next problem I noticed was the rear brake line was at full stretch so I got the extended lines. Finally I had a clash where the front diff breather was hitting the chassis and then I bent the rear panhard rod. I now have adjustable front and rear rods. They are much stronger than the originals and after fitting the front rod my slight wobble has improved further.
So while in theory a 40mm lift might not need the trimmings my experience is that it's best to plan for these in the longer term.
