im making a new winch bar for my vit, can i take the current bullbar off and drive around with no bumper, or is that some sort of defect?
only thing i could find is that it has to have a 're-bar'

Can't drive around with no bumper because you'll have pointy bits.

before making your bar refer to ADR 42. In summary I'd say no sharp protrusions. See section 42.9.

As squibby said, no front bar will expose pedestrians to some upleasant metal assemblies should you find one in your path.....hence it is illegal.

The vit bar can be fitted in about 5 mins ( 4 bolts ) so its not much work to put the stock bar back on if you don't get your custom bar finished before you need to drive it somewhere.
