Sorry to dig up an old thread.

If a whole jimny was acquired, would fitting the m13a engine be a royal pain in the bum, needing lots of custom work?

Or is it just the wiring.

Does sierra gearbox bolt straight up? Because the m13a ratios are quite different.

No. A G13BB from an early Jimny would bolt up nicely. An M13A would require huge amounts of custom work and not be worth the hassle.

Pain in the bum, yes, worth it in the long run, FUCK YES!!!!!

You would have to use the box that came in the doner Jim, LOT's of wiring, Efi pump or if the Jim tank in still serviceable, mod it in.

I've spent a lot of time working ( servicing as bugger all goes wrong) on new Suzuki's, & the M sieres eng would have to be the best Suzuki has ever made & the M Vvt is 2 time's the eng. Once you have the box tho, why stop at 1.3? Liana has a 1.8 & Vvt can be had :P :P

Worth doing?? Yep.

G series all the way, I have a g13bb in my carry and its a beast super reliable and a friend has one thats done over 330,000klms without missing a beat.
I would stick with the G series, the g13bb is used extensively now on light aircraft thanks to its reputation. They have g13b style rods and the sohc 16v head is the same as the vitara 16v.

they also use rotary's on light aircraft lol :P

but hey my g13a has done 308,xxx with some of that being as trip around oz by the old bloke i brought it from and now my mud and climbing and sanding adventures still aint disrupting it i wonder how much longer it will run.

I was keeping an eye on an 07 jimny with 20k kms on it. It went for just under $2000 today.

Sadly it was over my budget (my wife is getting pretty fiesty over how much time and coin is being spent on my zook).

I have a long list of things on my zook that need doing, it is always growing and never ending (unless i stop using it for 3 months).

Mate chris has a Liana engine still sitting in the wreck ready for for the next project, loom does not look all that bad pretty much like other efi's we have done, looking for a m series box at the moment should be good.

It will fly!!!! Is it the Vvt? With the lesser weight of the m18 I think It may be his next fast eng conversion!!

If the Gv was a write of I was thinking along the line's of a Jimny with a m13 in it, Suzuki Qld think I'm nutt's for even considering it!!  :P :P :P
