thats it, it's all inerperation, hence why my light bar is on a two way switch so it can be either used as a spotlight or work light (lightbar exceeds the 6 forward facing light rule)

i wouldn't drive around with the side lights on, but i cant see why they wouldnt be allowed

I have these lights, stripped them out and put 3UP XML 10W LEDs inside each of them, 4 in total, and using them as spotlights. For the price, the casing is fantastic. I'd post a link to my buildup but the pictures are dead so theres no point.

i found this that you posted, and im very interested in making a few of these up, do you still have the pics that you could upload again, or could you take some pics of the finished product and night time pics

I have just updated all the photos on the link so you should be able to see what I have done. There are beam shots on there as well, not the greatest but gives you an indication. Only problem with my buildup now is I think the suppliers have changed the drivers slightly, so it might not be possible to eliminate the modes (high, low and strobe).

my dads gq patrol has these standard when you turn the indicator on it turns the light on for the direction you are turning i really like them they are really good when turning into dark streets.

I can see that being a good idea for most drivers.

Most JDM cars have 'cornering' lights.
My old Super Custom had them. Was a bit weird at first but made finding house numbers easy.

alot of new cars have the corner lights or headlights that turn slightly when you turn so i dont see it being illegal, taxis also have big sidelights i assume for the axact purpose of finding house numbers

That is a generalisation, which like many is incorrect - in the caribbean where 80% of the cars on the road are JDM - I can only think of one model of Nissan that has cornering lights - personally - so far we've had four Toyotas, two Nissans & a Mitsubishi and none of them have.

Nissan Cedric, Nissan Sylvia, Nissan Patrol, Toyota Super Custom, Toyota Celsior, Honda Accord, Honda Prelude, Mitsubishi Delica among MANY others have cornering lights fitted when sold new in JDM.
