Not too sure if i should put this under Getting rid of stuff or I want it?!

Anyway....after my last weekend outing and having a maiden run with the Stockman, the 1L transfer combined with 31s and an MK3 engine isn't really a fantastic combination (even with 4.1 diff the t/case reduction is not enough).....so i've decided to sell the 1L transfer case (with switch) and get myself some proper reduction gears.

Im looking to sell the 1L t/case for around $280 but i will need your old (standard) t/case as i will be buying new reduction gears and will need a case to fit them

Let me know if anyone is interested to do a deal so i can go shopping for some gears :)

IMHO thats alot to pay for a 1L case as well swapping a standard case. I paid $400 for a case with
reduction gears fitted aswell as swapping a standard case and reduction gears & fitting cost ALOT
more than a 1L case. Just my 2c mate.

Yes, but not ehen you've given the previous owner your old case aswell. A standard WT case is worth atleast $100, correct?

Thanks for the info and your opinions....taken aboard
You need to keep in mind that most of you live over east and your parts are twice as cheap....just like your cars

FYI....a couple of adds here in WA for stock t/cases....both are asking $400 (another $350) so i though $280 was a reasonable price to exhcange a stock one for a 1L with a switch

mrw82 - I know i can put gears in a 1L case but some people that run smaller tyres are happy to have a 1L case. I figured that this could be a cheaper option for them to get some reduction and in turn since im going to buy gears, it'll save me some money also :)

Im looking to get 5.14 reduction gears so if you come accross a t/case with them fitted i'll be more than happy to pay you $400 :)

IMHO I don't believe that distance should be a factor. I regularly freight wheels (tanshi), gearboxes-transfers (jas), almost whole half cuts (pj.zook). Freight costs next to nothing these days. It wouldn't be more then $50 to get a transfer case freighted from Brisbane to Perth and vise versa.

Your 1.3 case is worth 3/5's of fuck-all. 1l cases are getting pretty rare these days and hence are worth a lot more. He stated in his first post that he wanted $280 AS WELL AS A 1.3 CASE. Read properly before posting

You can, but only 6.5s will provide the complete set of gears for the swap. If he wants 4.16, 4.9 or 5.14s, he will need ONE gear from a 1.3 transfer. May as well start with a 1.3 case.

Problem is, Murph owns a coily, which makes his 1.3 case worth $5.

Another reason why i want the 1.3 case ;)
I did the 4.9 into my tintop (and had to use one of the gears) and now i want to get some 5.14s for the ute

On the weekend i pulled out the 1L case out of the ute and swapped it out with my 4.9s from the tintop to see if it'll be good enough or if i should get the 5.14s

Anyway....long story short.....the bloke i brought the car off said it was a 1L case so i took his word for it but when i took them both out....they look bloody identical!!!! :-?

How do you tell the difference between a 1L case and a 1.3?

Cases with the switch are identical.

Put them in low and count the rotations.
