And that's the frustrating bit, because they really did used to be indestructible. Gregc's and Michaels (trolley tug) have been dragged along banks and jammed flat against the body more times than you could imagine and they are fine, yet these days they seem to split.

Damn.. I wanted those ones for the reason that they can cop some abuse..

Don't get me wrong, within reason they will cope a lot but they do and did split for me. Bit pissed for the price you pay for them. Mostly the fault with them is they rip among the mounting holes.

These solid ones seem like they will mount a lot better but may not handle being dragging along a bank or rock, both would be better than a dented steel flare

We Sikaflex'd Charlies DBOR's on and just used the rivites to hold them on place while it dried. WAY better!

yes massive pita , but I talking to someone now that is trying to make this exact flare in a much softer ,material for me.
so hopefully these will be available.
I'll still do the other hard flare but only on request I think
