Yep. Put one in a Maruti a few weeks back. Goes alright. Sub, amp, 6" splits. Not much room for anything else.

Mine is a good Mono.
A big stereo in a sierra is asking for it to be stolen

i've got a pioneer deck with usb on the front which runs to two 6" 2-ways in the kick panels, and two 6x9" 3-ways in the rear door... all speakers are aluminium cones (not paper)... its just loud enough to hear the vocals on music when doing 110km/hr... in an ideal world i'd run an amp and a small sub, but i can't see either surviving the elements, let alone thievery.

I built tool boxes that sit over the rear wheel arches. I mounted a 6x9 in each. Two 6" in front and a 12" sub in a box. I took the rear seats out, drilled holes through the bottom of the box and bolted it into the rear seat holes in the floor. The amp is screwed into the back of the sub box. Don't put anything in that you don't mind having stolen.

15inch sub and amp, 2 x 6x9s in boxes (that can be removed from vehicle as they are on long cords), 6inch in front, speakers are running off a seperate amp. We have a fair few shindigs in paddocks/camping so we needed something that would pump. Was cheap (under $500).

I've got a tintop. Standard alpine hu that has iPod/USB/aux controls. Alpine ddlinear 6.5inch splits behind the front seats in the side panels. 2 four inch tweeters up near the kick panels. A oldschool 8inch alpine sub. And a little 2 channel ken wood amp. Sounds crystal clear and loud enough with just the right amount of bass.

OP, you will need to do some major deadening and insulation if you want to achieve any form of sq. The panels are just too thin.

Seriously do you really need more than a basic stereo in a Suzuki, even a $200 unit will be way good enough. When some sad fool sits at the lights with his stereo cranked no one says wow how good is that dudes stereo, everyone says what a wanker.
$160 fine for having it cranked as well.

Granted. And most fools who cruise around with their stereos cranking for all the world to hear ARE wankers. But others just like to listen to music the way its supposed to be...... LOUD. I've owned quite a few big car stereos systems, and if it were at all possible to fit one to my ute, I would be doing so. I like bass. ( not for doof doof shit ) And all music sounds better when frequencies range from 60Hz to 20KHz, not just the crap that dribbles from supercheap $30 speakers.

Pete music to my ears is a 2stroke full noise up a damp, dense bush track leaving a nice light wafting trail of blue smoke to fill the nostrils of the native animals as they scurry for cover. Sorry mate I just don't share the passion for the sound systems, I love music and have seen mre bands than I can remember but in the car I rarely have the stereo on except to hear the news or the morning talkshow type crap on my way to work.

Fair enough. I have my MP3 on listening to the radio atleast 8hrs every day. I couldn't work without music to drown out the noise of the workshop, welder, phone , not to mention the racket my hardtop makes on the vitara.

Same. My first car was a hyundai excel. Bought it new. Drove it to the tint shop, got the windows done, then drove it to Northfield carsound, gave them $6k, and picked it up a week later. As a 17yr old in a small hatchback, I avoided the embarassing traffic light encounters as much as possible
