Hey guys. I'm on the hunt for a removable hard top for a vitara. I know they cost an arm and a leg but the only ones that I can find on the net are 3xm. tried calling flexiglass and they dont make them any more. So where else do I look for a canopy? Not even gonna bother looking for a second hand one as they go quicker than you can send a pm. Cheers all

If the 3xm canopy for the vitara is anything like the ones we have on the hiluxes at work, they are very cheaply made, kind of like old-school flexiglass.
I wouldn't buy one.
Steve.

Cheers Steve. Wouldn't have any ideas of where else stocks them? If they have to get custom made possibly we could get a group of people together and get them made up to be a bit cheaper?

I thought VERY hard about making a sheet metal one for my vitara. I have the plans in my head But I need another project like I need another rock in my head

lol thats fair enough. Shit so it's a pain in the ass to find someone that stocks a good one. I know I'm gonna have to pay through the teeth regardless but dont want to fork up heaps of dough just for it to be a P O S.
I know lowrange.com have a few on there but I'd hate to think what shipping would be worth for such a bulky Item.

All up cost me about $1700 for the top, shipping, port and customs fees, AQIS fees. And after all that, the fit is appauling, as is the fixing method. I'd stick my dick in a blender before recommending them to someone else.

rare as rocking horse poo & expensive... should have bought a tintop if you wanted a hard top.
keep you eye's peeled for one on ebay/gumtree/here etc & have cash ready to go or buy a Vitara with one fitted, remove the top & onsell it sans removable hardtop

Actually thats not a bad idea. I've seen a few for sale on the net with removable hard tops and driving them back and onselling them will end up paying for itself and more. Cars are expensive up here. Might take a little while longer to get the end result but could definately work.
I'm happy to have a hardtop but finding one that is gonna be the one that I want is gonna be a but of a search. Want to make sure I buy the right car for me the first time.
Gotta have the extra intrusion protection where I live. Katherine has sticky fingers everywhere lol

I got lucky and found one on ebay.. cost me $910.
I was originally looking for a tintop but couldnt find a good EFI one with low km's so i went with the softop that was looked after.
The fit is shithouse... definately not cock in a sock. On the other hand, the security is good.. that was my main reason for buying it. Also the softops make a good little shooting rig.

The genuine suzuki top is the only one worth owning IMO.
