Hi all have an idea been thinking bout doin and want some opinions. Want to make a custom stainless snorkel (kinda like what you see on comp trucks) but with mine I want to bypass the airbox and run it straight off the af meter and out the guard and run a k&n on top. Best I can explain is, bypass airbox, mod pipe off throttle body, mount af meter in the strut top region then silicon hose off af meter then snorkel pipe begins from there straight out standard snorkel location hole, out guard up pillar like normal with k&n on top (once again like comp trucks) any thoughts, shite idea or ok? Oh and before anyone says it what if in tight bush bashin scenario you damage it, no probs if on trip and will b doin that sort of drivin I'll just have a spare, any thoughts? Cheers.

Not a good idea at all. K&N filters don't filter well enough, won't prevent water getting down the intake, and you'll wreck it very quickly when off road, leaving your motor eating dirt.

Some Americans think what your planning is a good idea, but they're Americans.

I am planning on running either a factory vitara filter with paper element or making my own airbox, then run through stainless snorkel to donaldson prefilter. Won't look the best but I would prefer to have something work well then look pretty.
