I've got a head from a suzuki swift gti twincam and am giving it a rebuild, the kits come in two different forms depending on year model and i was wondering if anyone could tell me how to work out what year the head is?? it has come off a 1600 vitara bottom end out of my sierra, any hints on warming the engine while i'm doing the rebuild would be good too.

There's not much difference at all
If you're talking about a Suzuki swift 1300 GTi head....the earlier MK1's have a water gallery port open above the first cylinder while MK2/3 is blanked off
