Hey guys,

so on the weekend i was in the dunes, and i had to stop because of the guy infront of me. next thing i know a blue 60 series comes flying over the dune and bang straight into the back of me. :( I didnt even get a chance to get out before he was gone.. Im pretty pissed off to be honest. :x anyways... i need some advice on how to get the old girl back into shape.. the rear tailgate will need to be replaced because its nice and bent, and the rear right corner has been pushed in.. the hinges are ruined and the its kind of folded over itself.
Here are some pics

just wondering on how to just get it back into shape, i was thinking mabye a plank of wood behind the targa bar and then a jack with a long piece of wood to push it back out.. if that makes sense?

thanks guys :peaceout:

Take the tyre off and unbolt the tail gate. you might be able to push it back out. be careful not to bend the targa bar.

i would do that mate but i cant close my tail gate at all and because the corners bent in, the whole tail gate sits on that angle too.

i think you might need to see a panel beater =/ those corners will be a nightmare to get straight i reckon.

i've had good dealings with Barney and B-Ball Panel and Paint in Balcatta.

Depending on your budget you can have a good crack at it yourself. You just have to use commOn sense. My ex gf crashed the front of her corolla. She didn't want to pay a panel beater what he wanted. So I told her I'd give it a crack. I chained her car to a solid pole. Then had chains hooked up in places back to my towball and let the auto take off very slowly and took of in different directions. Also if you can get tension on it and rock back and forward youcould flex stuff back to shape. Now it was a whole different car and it was the radiator support panel. It came up brilliant you could only spot a tiny difference in the headlight gap. Mind you it would be weak as piss now another frontal collision and it would write it off.

Not too sure if you could hook chains up without welding a bracket on. But I'm sure you could do something.

That's exactly right. Nothing to lose. It is a Sierra not a Mercedes. And there's always someone wrecking one. Worst case scenario you fuck it. Find someone with a wreck to cut that whole section out and take it to a panel beater to get it stitched in. Then tell em you will paint it. Get them to do the hardwork and u to give it a crack finishing it off.

its a "bait caster" =)

i doubt a new tub would be cheaper than a panel beater - he is in Perth.
